For he says "Many people have lives marked by the comings and goings.   That feeling of not belonging to a specific location, if any part always accompanies them. So loneliness, nostalgia, longing are inseparable part of your everyday life, hence the pressing need to find a refuge, a shelter that allows you to take off ... "all the violence that surrounds it that often lives "... and turns them into beings vulnerable to adverse everything around them.

This is the feeling that Camejo Modesto wanted to express through his particular way of doing that, until now, has gone through two key moments, which are characterized by the traditional interest in addressing issues in art history as portrait, landscape and still life.

The latter is the true center, around which ideas grow gradually give rise to a debtor works great technical mastery and where evidence a clear interest to preserve academic standards and rules. However, this taste for the perfect, basking in the traditional way of producing easel paintings, may seem fundamental intention pursued by the artist.

An unstable world, inconstant, full of desires and longings, is masked behind these works immaculate, where one breathes an atmosphere that emanates peace and tranquility and where the elements have the quality to be exceedingly harmless (landscapes, fruits, flowers).

The role of color - which shifted from a total chromaticism to a monochrome almost complete - and transpolación or transposition of Dutch still life, are resources which the artist uses to shape his speech.

They represent what no longer exists, what is not, but with real lives in the same space and time thus establishing a parallel between the near and far, the absence and presence, evidenced in his works.

From here opens a long way which can only be overcome with tenacity and talent. His work ultimately will be giving the last word. "

In 1986 he won first prize in a provincial contest in the Art Gallery of Guantanamo for the 150 anniversary of the birth of General Maximo Gomez.
